Marketing Support Position Description

Overview
The Marketing Support position is a full-time, on-site role, working heavily with North Star’s Marketing Managers and Project Managers, as well as Online Marketing Director, Copywriters, Designers, and Programmers. This position is best suited for a candidate with a solid foundation in inbound marketing. The Marketing Support candidate should possess a firm grasp of promotional writing; an emphasis on writing for search engine optimization, online advertising, and social media is preferred. Technical aptitude is a must, as much of this person’s contributions will be connected to website content management systems and online marketing platforms. Ability to perform keyword research and to manipulate data in spreadsheet applications is a must. Excellent communication and research skills are essential to the success of this position. The Marketing Support team member must have the ability to multi-task across projects, quickly organize information, and deliver on deadlines.

Examples of Project Contributions

  • Monthly client reporting
  • Client communications for specific projects
  • Researching and extracting data from 3rd party software platforms
  • Publishing content to client sites
  • Social media program setup, posting, and sharing
  • Claiming and updating local directory listings and citations
  • New client launch programs (application setup, info gathering, etc.)
  • Search engine optimization site audits
  • Keyword research and mapping to target site content
  • On-page SEO optimization (writing/updating metadata)
  • Collaboration with designers, copywriters, and programmers
  • Press release distribution
  • Support for client strategy meetings
  • Contributing to North Star’s internal marketing projects
  • Helping with “traditional marketing” projects for NSM clients
  • Assisting with content migration on website projects
  • Maintaining accurate time-keeping records in NSM’s project management platform

Please be advised this position requires extensive training and requires some outside reading at the start to be in alignment with NSM’s theory and practices.
